Water consumption

I feel like there are two types of people when it comes to water. Most don’t drink near enough water a day. The second group is evolving as overestimating water needs. If it feels good for you, that is fine, but no need to drink triple digits because your friend started. How much water should you drink a day? Doctors used to say 64 ounces of water a day. There is no actual research that states this is the proper needed amount. A good general rule of thumb is to drink 1/2 your body weight, in pounds, in ounces of water a day. A few factors can require more water and they include level of elevation, humidity, heat, exercise, and drinking dehydrating fluids such as pop and coffee. Some foods have a high concentration of water, and can count towards your water intake. Many people count hot, unsweetened tea toward water intake as well. A good water goal won’t be unattainable, and hopefully you can find a balance that keeps you out of the bathroom all nite. While the majority of the people I know still don’t drink near enough water, there does seem to be a push to excessive water drinking. I currently drink 100 ounces a day. That is more than 1/2 my body weight. However, I am rather active during the day. Some benefits of water are flushing toxins out of your body, helping rid body of sodium bloat, proper energy levels, and clearer skin.
