Apple Berry Crumble

Trying to decide what to do with the 20 plus pounds of apples we came home with when I stumbled across this post for a summer crumble. Changed it a bit to suit what we have on hand, and this is what we madeI was looking for new apple recipes (since we have so many) when I happened upon a new to me blog!

adapted from www.sproutright.com

Ingredients for base:

3 cups sliced apples

1 cup mixed berries

1/4 cup Good Belly probiotic

1 tsp cinnamon

Ingredients for topping

1 1/2 cup rolled oats

1/4 cup        maple syrup

1/4 cup        chia seeds

1/4 cup        unsalted butter

1 tsp          cinnamon

Directions:

Mix apples and berries with juice and cinnamon. I let it sit in the fridge for 20 minutes. In a second bowl, mix the oats, maple syrup, chia seed, unsalted butter, and cinnamon. Pour apple mixture into 8×8 baking dish. Top with oat mixture. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Allow it to cool slightly before serving, but serve it warm.
